Egypt 2007 - Pre trip planning

This trip had to be planned a long time back as I planned for my parents to obtain their Egypt visa from India and I provided the whole trip plan and bookings as part of the visa application. However the Egypt visa office in India, by mistake, gave them a visa that expired the day we would land in Egypt - so we had to get another visa anyways. The basic plan looked like this :

May 2007

Destination: Egypt

1. Day 1 (25th): Flight LHR - Cairo 1440 -> Check in Hilton Pyramids (Golf resort) -> chill out -> dinner
   
2. Day 2 (26th): Tour booked: Morn:Check out -> Go to Pyramids (Giza/Sphinx) -> E Museum -> drop off at railway station at 1700?
   ->2000 overnight train to Aswan (Reservation tel: 202) 574 94 74 - 574 92 74 / Fax - (202) 574 90 74) -> dinner on board
   
3. Day 3 (27th): Bkf on train -> Check in hotel (New Aswan Cataract) -> chill out -> dinner
   
4. Day 4 (28th): Sunrise at Abu Simbel -> noon: get on cruise
   
5. Day 5 (29th): cruise
   
6. Day 6 (30th): cruise
   
7. Day 7 (31st): bkf on cruise -> noon disembark at Luxor -> chill -> overnight sleeper train to cairo (2140 - 0645)
   
8. Day 8 (01st): Check in -> Hilton Pyramids (Golf resort)
   
9. Day 9 (02nd): Check out -> Flight back to LHR at
   

I was almost ready to book a complete package tour, but there were none that covered Abu Simbel as well as the other places on the list - so DIY it was. Booked the flight, hotel transfer, hotel and the Cairo tour from UK. Didn't book the cruise from here as I heard that the actual prices if booked in Egypt are much cheaper. Regarding the train - tried calling / faxing them multiple times - but no answer so was a bit apprehensive about it.
